The Efneo is an internal gear change that replaces the triple chainring and is mounted in the same place as the chainrings.

What are the implications of this type of change?

Bringing an internal change to the dishes has several advantages.

1. Ease of changing gears : you can change gears both pedaling and standing still. You don't need to be circulating to be able to change dishes. If you pedal to a point where you have to stop suddenly - for example a traffic light - you are not obliged to start in the high gear you were in when you stopped. You simply change gear when stopped and put it in the lowest gear.

2. Your chain will never come off : this, which is very common in a three-ring derailleur with derailleur, does not happen with the internal derailleur. A derailleur, as the name suggests, attempts to deflect the chain laterally, and this often causes chain slippage and subsequent jams. The chain never moves out of place and there is no chance of it coming off due to the usual lateral pushes.

3. Extends the life of the chain : by not subjecting the chain to lateral twisting, all that wear and torsion that shortens the life of the chain is avoided and can sometimes lead to it breaking if not executed correctly. the gear change.

4. Reduce the number of mechanisms seen : The Efneo has an internal shifting mechanism, which greatly simplifies the final result. Here there are not 3 chainrings + 1 derailleur, but rather a single, very small chainring, which is also protected with a disc. You avoid snagging on clothing and the possibility of accidentally hitting the derailleur, with consequent misalignments.

5. Minimum maintenance : this type of changes requires practically no maintenance, since it is very rare for it to go out of adjustment and it is not necessary to grease or lubricate.

WHICH BIKES IS IT SUITABLE FOR?

The Efneo is suitable for use on any type of bicycle for non-competitive use. That is, it can be mounted on touring, urban, electric, folding, recumbent bicycles, etc.

The system has been extensively tested in various conditions - road, trail and laboratory tests, including winter tests. But it has not been tested in competition MTB, downhill or dirt, so it is not approved for these applications.

GEAR RANGE

The Efneo distributes its three gears in a range of 170%, distributed as follows:

1st gear: 28 teeth (1:1)

2nd gear: 40 teeth (1:1,429)

3rd gear: 50 teeth (1:1,786)

By default, the Efneo is delivered with a physical 28-tooth chainring, which is multiplied by a factor (multiplier) to achieve longer gears.

But there are two options to mount larger plates:

COMPATIBLE WITH:

The Efneo GTRO is compatible with most frames with traditional 68 mm or 100 mm square bottom bracket, with English thread. The diameter of the bottom bracket axle cannot exceed 45.6 mm.
